When some of the world’s largest shippers need their goods moved, they turn to Transplace – an elite provider of transportation management services and logistics technology.  Yet when Transplace found its own internal business processes stuck in the slow lane, they chose Workflow Director from BP Logix to get them moving!

In particular, the manual process for paying contracted carriers was labor and time intensive.  ”It came down to relying on users to let us know that Transplace had received the legal documents we required,” said Vince Biddlecome, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Transplace. “There was room for manual errors that we wanted to eliminate.”

Workflow Director – which Biddlecome calls ‘cost-effective and unparalleled in functionality” – was implemented in less than two months, allowing Transplace to image and store all carrier contracts, customer contacts and pricing documents. Transplace quickly benefitted from reduced time spent processing invoice-related documents, the ability to retrieve documents more quickly and allowing customers to access documents themselves.

Read the entire Transplace case study and understand why Biddlecome says, “Our experience with BP Logix has as much to do with what makes the product superior as it does with the BP Logix team itself. We think of them as more than just a software company – they are our partners.”

Workflow Director from BP Logix is Web-based software that provides storage, categorization and search capabilities for all documents, electronic forms (eForms) and workflow processes and provides visibility into business processes.

It probably comes as no surprise that The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the largest research organization in the world specializing in mental illness, has many activities that involve the processing of paperwork. As a government organization, forms and documents often require multiple approvals and signatures, lengthening the time for the process to complete.

Realizing the need for a better way to manage the processing of these documents, NIMH’s chief information officer John Harris went looking for a workflow software solution.

”Government Agency Speeds Document Handling,” an article written by Brian Albright and published in the December 2009 edition of Integrated Solutions, explores how NIMH has streamlined its internal document processes with an automated workflow software solution — Workflow Director from BP Logix.
